All New at Camp Lakota

All New 150 foot Zipline Run - Swing, Reach, Climb, Zip, Achieve!

Camp Lakota is happy to announce the installation of an all new Zipline run within our Outdoor Adventure course. Our new Zipline, installed and certified by Universal Ropes, will be bigger and better than ever. It will feature a 150 foot run starting from a perch platform of over 40 feet high. Our Lakota Zipline is part of a three tiered challenge circuit. The Zipline can be reached by first climbing our 25 foot spider web. Once you have reached the top of the spider web, each camper will make their way across our 40 foot long Circus High Wire which will bring them to our Zipline launch platform.

Our new Zipline will round out our newly redone Lakota Outdoor Adventure area. This exciting and challenging activity area also features nine amazing low rope teamwork building challenges, all newly installed and enhanced. Lakota features a specialty elective in low ropes, and our trained and certified instructors help build analytical thinking, confidence and determination in each camper. We look forward to seeing you swinging, climbing, and reaching for new heights within our Outdoor Adventure course.
Try Your Skills at the New Lakota Low Ropes Course

Camp Lakota is proud to announce a major expansion of it's already diverse Outdoor Adventure Program. Lakota has added a new Low Ropes Challenge course which is sure to catch the attention of all our campers. The Lakota course features seven fantastic team work building elements, which can be used by all bunks and as part of Tribal War Olympics and Color War.

The exciting new elements include the Nitro Swing, "fly through the air like Tarzan," the Bosun's Chairs, "can you make it across the alligator infested river?" and Wild and Woozy, "who will save the princess from her captors?" Each element comes with it's own story line to help set the stage for the adventure that lies ahead. The Low Ropes Challenge course is a great addition to our fan favorite Zip Line course and 50 foot climbing tower.
Garage Band with Eddie Hager

We are delighted that Eddie Hager, Lakota Legend, former camper and counselor is back at Lakota as director of our music program and Garage Band. Eddie is a New York City school music teacher who is known for his passionate involvement with the award winning "Little Kids Rock" program in NYC.

He is looking forward to working with all age groups, teaching guitar, keyboards and a host of other instruments. Our new "Garage Band" equipped with drums, keyboards, electric and acoustic guitars and mics and amps will be a great place to practice what you know or for beginners to learn a new instrument. We encourage all of our campers to bring their favorite instrument to camp.
