Opening Day and Buses

IMG_7560We are requiring all campers to take the bus to and from camp. There are various bus stops that will be convenient for everyone. This is a time for campers to start forming friendships and creating memories. We also feel that having vehicles coming and going interferes with our regular camp day.

We have made this process very easy, On our website if you click on our forms page, you will see a link for the bus, Click the link, fill out it out, hit send and we are all set. If you have more than one camper,
you must do this for each one.

Those coming for the first 4 weeks will take the bus to camp and then get picked up by parents. Those
coming for the last 3 weeks will get dropped off for camp and then take the bus home. You would click
the word “none” in one of the choices if you fit into one of the above scenarios.

Vehicles will not be allowed on campus on Opening day or Closing day.

Below are our bus pickup locations on opening day, specific morning times will be noted on our Bus Choice Form.  On our last day of the summer, we will also use these locations as our final bus drop off points.

  1. Long Island – Macy’s Manhasset – Parking Lot -1100 Northern Blvd, Manhasset, NY – (Macy’s borders Community Drive as well)
  2. Central New Jersey – JCPenney Parking Lot – Woodbridge Center Mall, Routes 1and 9, Woodbridge, NJ (Parking lot is next to Route 9 Marquee across from JCPenney)
  3. Northern New Jersey – Montvale NJ “Park & Ride” at Garden State Parkway Rest stop, Montvale, NJ (4 Miles North of Exit 165)

Please plan on arriving at least 30 minutes early to the bus departure location you have chosen.

Each bus will be staffed by a bus captain and a staff of Lakota counselors.

When the buses arrive please check in with the bus captain.

If you have brought any medication that requires refrigeration, please bring this directly to the bus captain. Other, non-refrigerated items which need to be stored in the infirmary should be turned in to the bus captain as well. Please be sure all medication is sealed in a Ziploc bag with your child’s name.

Please listen carefully to the announcements made by the camp’s administrative staff . Your cooperation at the bus stop will go a long way in ensuring a smooth departure.
