We understand, now more than ever, the value of giving our campers the full traditional summer camp experience while also allowing time for family events, sports, and other activities outside of camp. Our program has been tailored to accommodate different school systems, allowing it to fit the schedules of campers from all over the country.
Our six-week session allows campers to take advantage of all that Lakota has to offer. Campers can explore a wide variety of activities, take the time to learn new skills, or improve upon current ones. Six weeks also allows for large camp-wide events such as Color War, camp trips, theater shows, and more!
Having every camper at Lakota be part of our full six-week program allows us to establish a truly unified camp experience for all our campers, where they can create friendships and memories that last a lifetime!
We offer a three-week session for first time campers (1st-5th grade only) with the option to extend to the full session. This gives our youngest campers a chance to ease into camp life with the option to extend in the first year or come back for the full session the following summer(s).

Sleepaway camp tuition varies widely based on session length, location, and what’s included.
At Camp Lakota, pricing for Summer 2026 starts at $5,650 for a 3-week session (grades 1–5) and ranges from $9,200 to $10,950 for the 6-week session depending on grade and timing. Most importantly, Camp Lakota’s tuition is fully all-inclusive of meals, bus transportation, day trips, specialty activities like horseback riding and waterskiing, go-karts, laundry, canteen shop, and all special events are covered. This means there are no surprise add-ons to budget around.
Sleepaway camp costs vary considerably depending on session length, region, and amenities offered. When evaluating price, what matters most is what’s actually included. Some camps charge separately for specialty activities, transportation, and meals, while others bundle everything into tuition.
Camp Lakota’s all-inclusive pricing covers the full experience: horseback riding, waterskiing, athletics, day trips, laundry, and more are all part of the base tuition with no hidden fees.
Most overnight camps begin in late June or early July.
At Camp Lakota, the 2026 season opens on June 28th for both the 6-week session and the first 3-week session. Families planning around school calendars, sports commitments, or family vacations will find the June 28th start date works well for most school years across the country.
Session end dates depend on whether a family chooses a shorter or longer program.
At Camp Lakota, the first 3-week session ends July 21st, the second 3-week session ends August 8th, and the full 6-week session concludes August 8th.
Most camps open enrollment months before the summer, and spots particularly at established camps with returning families can fill quickly.
At Camp Lakota, enrollment for Summer 2026 is open now. New campers can also ask about Camp Lakota’s new camper discount.
Camp Lakota offers a sibling discount of 5% off tuition for additional children, which can make a meaningful difference for families enrolling more than one camper.
For families exploring the 3-week session as a more accessible starting point, that option is available for first-time campers from grade 1 to 5.
To discuss your family’s specific situation and find out about the new camper discount, call Camp Lakota directly at 845-888-5611 or request info here.
Camp Lakota’s tuition is fully all-inclusive, which means meals, chartered bus transportation, day trips, the canteen shop, all specialty activities (including horseback riding, waterskiing, and go-karts), laundry service, and all special events are covered in the base price, with no additional fees.
The only items not included are airfare, baggage transport for families using camp trucking services, and private lessons, as well as the 7th–10th grade trips that are also billed separately. For CITs, the tuition includes the West Coast Trip, with airfare billed separately.
For most first-time campers in grades 1–5, the 3-week session is a natural starting point; it’s long enough to fully settle in and make real friends, without feeling like an overwhelming commitment for a child who hasn’t been to sleepaway camp before. Camp Lakota also offers the option to extend from 3 to 6 weeks, so families aren’t locked in if a camper absolutely loves it.
For campers in grades 6–10, only the full 6-week session is available, which gives older campers the time to take advantage of all that Lakota offers, including Color War, camp-wide trips, theater shows, and overnight excursions. Read more about choosing the right session length.
