Through your example and leadership, the campers must share in the care of every bunk. A counselor should be able to guide and supervise, and must be enthusiastic, patient, and self-controlled. A sense of humor is essential.
A specialty counselor is responsible for teaching a particular activity or skill, at least some of the time. You are to be with the campers in your bunk the remainder of the day. Nurses are responsible for: (a) caring for ill or injured patients who are admitted to the Health Center; (b) handling health calls throughout the day; (c) sorting and dispensing medication to campers; (d) responding to any emergency which may arise at camp; (e) maintaining health logs for each camper and staff member; and, (f) encouraging and promoting health maintenance and accident prevention.
